Knowledge is only potential power, don’t keep it to yourself

28 Feb

We are always worried that someone might come along and take our ideas. But we don’t take the time to think, so what if they do. I know there are situations that it might hurt you. Like if someone takes your idea and comes out with a new comic book hero. But in 99% of situations that’s not the case.

In most cases you just don’t want the competition. Your afraid that if someone will know what you do they will start a business just like yours and you will have competition. Take a second to think about this, when your hiding yourself from the world your potential customers have no chance to get to know you. You don’t let them see how brilliant you are and why they should work with you.

Just take a look at or, they give out so much information for free without caring who might take it. The reason they allow themselves to do that is that they understand that there is so much work out there that they can’t possibly do it by themselves. But giving out all that information shows their potential customers one thing, they are experts in their fields.

Imagine meeting a customer that already knows your an expert. How much easier would it be to close the deal with him? So remember, don’t keep it to yourself.
